Prof. Manoj Ariyarathna

Prof. Manoj Ariyaratne brings a strong academic foundation and a deep commitment to student well-being, with a focus on supporting university students in overcoming daily challenges. With over 26 years of experience at the Department of Languages, Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, he has held several key positions, including Deputy Senior Student Counsellor, Head of the Department of Languages, and Dean of the Faculty. As a beneficiary of the AHEAD project, Prof. Ariyaratne pursued a Higher Diploma in Counseling Psychology (HDCP) at the Institute of Human Resource Advancement, University of Colombo, where he earned a merit pass. This one-year program in Counseling Psychology enriched him with essential knowledge and skills in counseling, combining both theoretical study and practical application. It has equipped him to excel in various counseling settings and make a positive impact on the lives of undergraduate students.
