Mr. WMVD Chathuranga

WMVD Chathuranga, a Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medalist for the Student of the Year Award (2022 General Convocation), serves at the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education, Faculty of Applied Sciences. With a proven record of balancing academics, sports, and extracurricular excellence, he is deeply committed to mentoring students, supporting them in overcoming challenges, and guiding them toward both academic and personal growth. As a national-level Clean Sport Educator and Psychological Counselor, he specializes in promoting drug-free well-being and fostering mental resilience. He is currently pursuing an International Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health at ES and has undergone specialized training in drug abuse management, further strengthening his capacity to create healthier and more empowering environments for individuals and communities.
