Mrs. Nadeera Jayathunga

Mrs. Nadeera Jayathunga is an experienced academic and psychological counselor with 14 years of counseling experience at the University Psychological Counseling Center, Sitharana. She teaches Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Language, attached to the Department of Social Sciences. A beneficiary of the AHEAD project, Mrs. Jayathunga pursued a Higher Diploma in Counseling Psychology (HDCP) at the Institute of Human Resource Advancement, University of Colombo. This one-year program enriched her with essential knowledge and skills in counseling, combining theoretical study and practical application. She also achieved a Diploma through the Institute of Psychological Counseling Studies. Her expertise has been instrumental in supporting the well-being of the university community, particularly the undergraduates, and she remains dedicated to promoting mental health and personal growth.
